Week 5 Quarterback Streamers For Fantasy Football: Aaron Rodgers Turns Back Time
Jorge Martin released the quarterback streamer recommendations for Week 5 in fantasy football.
We thought last week was a tough one for injuries. Oy! The hits just keep on coming. But we’re a resilient lot, us fantasy football managers. We signed up for 17 weeks of highs, lows, injuries and the occasional insult from leaguemates who beat us by fractional points. And if we’re lucky, we get to celebrate a title in the new year. In the meantime, it’s Week 5, lotta miles to go before that.
Let’s get into some streamers. As always with quarterbacks, we’ll mine the fantasy football rankings for players outside the top 12. Make sure to check out our fantasy football projections to get further confirmation why these players are targets. Lastly, all stats versus each position group listed below are from our wonderful DvP tool and any utilization data came from our UR Score.
Quarterback Streamers for Week 5 in Fantasy Football
Aaron Rodgers | Steelers vs. Colts
It feels weird writing this one. So many were shoveling dirt on Rodgers after he threw for a high of 221 passing yards and threw a single TD pass, total, in the first two games. Then he went out and tossed 3 TDs in each of the past two games, throwing for at least 292 yards in both contests.
Next up is a Colts defense that’s allowing 276.3 passing yards to QBs, fourth in the league. I’m actually benching Justin Herbert for Rodgers in one superflex league, so putting my money where my mouth is.
Jameis Winston | Giants at Commanders
The Jameis Winston Experience was another roller coaster ride, passing for 250 yards and 3 TDs against the Cardinals. Unfortunately, he threw for a pair of interceptions as well. With J.J. McCarthy barely having his first full week in the QB room, it still appears too early to start him. Winston gets a Commanders pass defense that in Weeks 2 and 3 gave up 4 TD passes each to Dak Prescott and Sam Darnold. Bombs away Jameis!
Jacoby Brissett | Cardinals vs. Lions
The veteran Brissett was one of the recommended streamers last week, and he responded with 166-2-3 last week. Hey, he threw a TD to Marvin Harrison Jr. last week, but that was one of the few highlights. But this week will be different (yes, we know you’ve heard that before).
The Lions are No. 1 in most passing yards allowed, fantasy points given up and TD passes. The game is in Arizona. Brissett is staring at a big day.
