Week 4 Fantasy Football Projections Standouts: Tyler Shough, Ollie Gordon & More

Matt LaMarca compares our fantasy football projections to our Week 4 rankings to highlight the biggest standouts.

We’re starting to get into the meat of the NFL season. While other sports have at least 82 games to draw data from, we only get 18 weeks in the NFL. That means we’re already 1/6th of the way through the regular season. Time truly does fly when you’re having fun.

With three games worth of information now at our disposal, we’re starting to see some players moving up and down the rankings. Some players have been pleasant surprises, while others have been pretty massive disappointments. We see those changes reflected in our rankings, but there are also some outliers in our fantasy football projections.

Let’s dive into four players who stand out for one reason or another for NFL Week 4.

Fantasy Football Projections Standouts For Week 4

Tyler Shough, QB, NO

  • Projection: 18.2
  • Rank: QB8

Shough and the Saints are coming off a tough loss vs. the Raiders in Week 3, but Shough continues to put up big numbers for fantasy purposes. He threw for 255 yards and four touchdowns, bringing him to 917 passing yards and eight scores for the year. He’s added a ninth score on the ground to go along with 22.3 rushing yards per game. Overall, he checks in as QB3 for fantasy purposes through the first three weeks.

Can Shough keep up that pace all season? That seems unlikely, but there’s no reason he shouldn’t continue to be fantasy-viable. The Saints have dropped back on 69% of their offensive plays this season, which is the second-highest frequency in the league. They’re No. 7 in Dropback Over Expectation (DBOE), and that’s probably not going to change with Travis Etienne now set to miss some time.

Shough should be started with confidence against the Falcons. He checks in as QB8 in our projections, while both Matthew Berry and Alex Cupps have him ranked in the top five.

Ollie Gordon, RB, MIA

  • Projection: 6.7
  • Rank: RB35

How to approach Gordon on the waiver wire was one of the biggest questions in fantasy at the start of the week. His outlook improved tremendously following the injury to De’Von Achane. He’s set to take over as the Dolphins’ top RB, and there are only so many starting RBs in the NFL.

That said, Gordon is still going to have to play for Miami. They’re arguably the worst team in the NFL, and that’s not a very appealing set of circumstances for a running back. Gordon did manage to find the end zone in relief of Achane last week, but he’s still averaged just 2.4 yards per attempt in 2026-27. He’s at just 2.7 yards per attempt for his career, so he’s yet to prove that he’s a capable NFL running back.

Additionally, Gordon could face a bit more competition for touches in Week 4. Jaylen Wright could return to the lineup after missing last week’s contest, and he’s going to have a role if active. He actually served as the Dolphins’ top RB after Achane went down last year, even though Gordon has played more than him so far this season.

Add it all up, and Gordon is merely RB35 in our projections. He should get a handful of opportunities this week, but the combination of his awful situation and questionable talent makes him risky at best. Ultimately, if Achane couldn’t get much going for the Dolphins, don’t expect Gordon to.

Drake London, WR, ATL

  • Projection: 12.1
  • Rank: WR15

Find someone who loves you as much as London loves Michael Penix. After stumbling through the first two weeks alongside Cooper Rush, London got his QB1 back in Week 3. He responded with a monster performance, turning 10 targets into nine catches for 194 yards. This was the dilemma with London all offseason: he’s a clear WR1 with Penix in the lineup and barely startable without.

That said, it’s a bit surprising to see London at WR15 in our projections for Week 4. Penix is still healthy (at least for now), so why is London grading out as a WR2? Their game vs. the Saints comes with a 48.5-point total – tied for the third-highest of the week – so that’s not much of a concern.

Our experts are much more optimistic about London’s prospects. He’s an easy top-10 option at the position, and that seems more reasonable based on what he’s historically done with Penix. Maybe the projections just need some more time to overcome London's poor first two weeks, but he’s a player who is clearly on the rise.

Oronde Gadsden, TE, LAC

  • Projection: 8.3
  • Rank: TE9

Gadsden is the opposite of London. He’s up at TE9 in our projections, but he’s merely TE17 in our consensus rankings. He’s coming off a donut in Week 3, and he sits at just TE33 in fantasy scoring through his first three outings.

That said, there are definitely reasons to be optimistic about Gadsden moving forward. Both David Njoku and Charlie Kolar are sidelined, which opens up more playing time for him. Gadsden’s route participation jumped to 74% in Week 3 without both players after sitting at 14% and 45% in the first two weeks.

More opportunities should lead to more fantasy points. That wasn’t the case in Week 3 – his target share remained stagnant at just 7% – but there should be better days ahead. It’s hard to get too excited about his prospects vs. the Seahawks, but Gadsden remains an interesting TE flyer for those who are streaming the position.
